The aforementioned programme reinforces KINITRO’s dedication to the fight against inequalities, the neglect of which has led to pathologies of the time, such as the social marginalization of vulnerable social groups and, consequently, their exclusion as a result of this extremely difficult situation, the pandemic.

KINITRO was able to adapt its experiential trainings for online delivery and identified the critical need for disability education and awareness among persons with and without impairments. as well as disability awareness and familiarity for non-disabled persons, disabled people, and health professionals. The Labyrinth of Trainings is open to everyone, without exception, with the intention of fostering an inclusive and just society. Through the training sessions, participants acquire all the required skills, beginning with the correct language for disability and progressing to the implementation of activities toward society and the IASIS NGO’s boarding houses. The purpose of the seminars is to enhance the participants’ comprehension of the community’s challenges and requirements.

The purpose of the workshops is to inspire their creative curiosity, find new abilities, and develop them. Twenty training sessions with over 2,613 participants and a cumulative effect of 90,449 individuals were conducted.

KINITROnGO Academy | Life Skills is a European Solidarity Corps Project that is 100% individualized and all-inclusive. It provides supplementary training using non-formal education approaches so that all individuals have equal possibilities for personal and professional success. By participating in a KINITROnGO Academy, you may master the green and digital transitions while gaining the key to sustained competitiveness, resilience, and maintaining social fairness for all.

 

The objectives were to:

  • Develop soft skills (interactive sessions & simulation of real-life situations).
  • Develop green and digital skills with training in innovative tools.
  • Establish a network between the companies and the participants.
  • Handle difficult situations in everyday life regarding time management and setting priorities.
  • Empower all participants to engage and contribute to their local community.
  • Recognize and evaluate the competencies gained.

disABILITY AWAREness | Tech-it VR Edition

The primary goal of “ABILITY AWARE: Tech-It VR” is for participants to gain a better understanding of notions, such as “disability”, “accessibility” and “inclusion”, through the use of technology and virtual reality. Through this project, we aim to promote equality, acceptance, and respect for people with disability, to enhance capacity building of partner Organizations, through the sharing of good practices on disability rights, inclusion and accessibility issues, as well as to empower young people in Greece, Europe, to start and lead their own social project. Most importantly, local youth will be able to recognize what is accessible in their universities, work, neighborhood, and their communities, based on the knowledge and experiences through the workshops, as well as examine modern issues, such as civil society, Sustainable development, disability, and accessibility. This happens in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, as Quality Education (Objective 4) and the reduction of Inequalities (Goal 10) are the primary goals of this project.

 

OBJECTIVES

– for the participants to acquire self-esteem when dealing with people with disability, as well as patience, understanding towards all other social groups.

– for the participants to review all they already know about the world of disability, but also about their own abilities, as they discover new skills and learn to communicate effectively.

– to promote critical and creative thinking, and enhance teamwork and interaction between people with and without disabilities.

– To provide participants with the knowledge on how to achieve social good.

– To teach participants how to tackle major social issues and offer new, innovative ideas for social change.

– To provide the platform where the youngsters of the local community can interact and exchange stories, ideas and best practices with each other regarding inclusion, diversity, and accessibility

– To promote the use of technology for social inclusion

-To empower both the participants of the project and the participants in our workshops, in order to engage and contribute to their local community

– to recognize and validate the competences gained throughout the project

Share, Develop, GO! | Youth Exchange

In the last few years, sustainability has been high on the agenda of both the European Union, as well as the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, in order to meet the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges that the world faces in the present, as well to aid the creation of a more sustainable future. One million species are threatened with extinction according to IPBES, inequalities are rising all over the world, there is still a lack of environmental action by  governments and businesses, while governments still do not have an SDG monitoring in place to track national progress on the SDGs. The next decade is crucial for achieving a better and more sustainable future, stressing the need for an increase in local and regional activism for fighting environmental issues, combating inequality, and eradicating poverty. Realizing the importance of the partnership between European civil society organizations, in order to tackle current developmental issues -from the threat of climate change, management of natural resources and eradication of poverty to fostering peace, inclusive societies and reduce inequalities. Based on that, KINITRO NGO wanted to explore the creation of new channels of convergence and cooperation between stakeholders across Europe. Moreover, according to the findings of the Eurofound survey (2019), a large proportion of young people aged 15-29 are in a state of unemployment, education, or training, which has been designated by the European Commission’s Employment Committee as ‘NEET’. To a large extent, young people believe that the education system did not provide them with the necessary skills for the labor market and as a result, they consider that the knowledge they have acquired is not directly related to it.

We implemented a Youth Exchange with 30 wonderful people from Greece, Croatia, Estonia, Bulgaria and Romania in Raches, Lamia during the period of 19-28 of April. Each day was full of activities focused on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, diversity, accessibility and inclusion.

 

More specifically, the objectives were the following:

-To raise awareness about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN, motivating young people to work towards a more sustainable future with equal opportunities for everyone.

-To provide participants with the knowledge on how to start their own social enterprise, enhancing their entrepreneurial and project management skills.

-To teach how to tackle major social issues and offer new, innovative ideas for social change, becoming aware, engaged, and active citizens.

-To empower the youngsters of the participating countries by equipping them with entrepreneurial knowledge, skills, and attitudes based on the European Entrepreneurship Competence Framework.

-To provide the platform where the youngsters of the participating countries can interact and exchange stories, ideas, and best practices with each other regarding the SDGs, youth unemployment, youth empowerment, and entrepreneurship.

-To enhance the creativity and innovativeness of the participants by asking them to draft, design, and conceptualize an entrepreneurial venture; (plan and implement a project; define, target, evaluate, cooperation).

-To foster intercultural dialogue and cross-cultural communication between the youth groups, encouraging an understanding of different nationalities and languages.

– To promote exchanges between young people in Europe.

– To empower the participants in order to engage and contribute to their local community.

– To validate and recognize the learned competencies gained throughout the project.

The project was in accordance with:

– the Europe 2020 Strategy and its Youth on the Move flagship initiative, improving the employment situation of young people, supporting young entrepreneurs.

-the 11 European Youth Goals.

-the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN.
